Program information
MVCC’s Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology AAS degree program is a great start to a career in the growing field of nanotechnology. Students will receive instruction in related academic subjects, safety procedures, statistical process control techniques, and the operation of machinery and equipment for the fabrication and processing of semiconductors. The chip manufacturing process is evolving with new methods of manufacturing that require new work skills, greater automation, and a flexible workforce. This degree meets these challenges.
Students will take classes in circuits, electronics, computer programming, high-vacuum technology, modern production methods and statistical quality control, motors and controls, fluid mechanics, chemistry, and semiconductor manufacturing, as well as the core physical education, English, math, and social science.

Prerequisites
Two High School Mathematics Courses or the equivalent, and one year of laboratory science are required. Chemistry and Physics are recommended.
