***SCOOTERS & E-BIKES*** PER NEW YORK STATE CODE, E-BIKES, E-SCOOTERS OR SIMILAR ITEMS WITH LITHIUM-ION BATTERIES ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE RESIDENCE HALLS. PLEASE LEAVE THESE ITEMS AT HOME.

  • Pillows
  • Blankets
  • Bedspread or comforter
  • Mattress pad
  • "Twin Extra Long" size sheets/pillowcases, mattress size 36" x 80"
  • Towels and washcloths
  • Casual "everyday attire"
  • Bathrobe, slippers, sleepwear
  • Swimsuit
  • Boots, sneakers, shoes, slides
  • Scarves, gloves, hat
  • Winter coat/light jacket
  • Semi-formal attire
  • Odds and Ends
  • Personal hygiene products (soap, shampoo, & personal toiletries)
  • Shower pail & shower shoes
  • A padlock - either a dresser or your wardrobe (closet) has a lock hasp installed so that you can lock the unit
  • Hangers
  • Screwdriver
  • Flashlight, batteries
  • First-aid kit
  • Prescribed medication
  • OTC Medications (over the counter) for cold, etc. as you prefer
  • Small sewing kit
  • Eyeglasses repair kit
  • Athletic gear, i.e. football, frisbee,  etc.
  • Laundry detergent (Pods are recommended)
  • Laundry basket
  • Utensils, plate, cups, mug, tupperware (microwavable)
  • Stamps & envelopes
  • Umbrella
  • Storage containers
  • Tissues
  • Pots and pans if choosing to utilize kitchen
  • UL" approved 14 gauge/15 amp strip style surge protector with an on/off switch (ONLY ACCEPTABLE EXTENSION CORD)
  • Refrigerator - 1.6 or 1.7 cubic feet (the small college cube size) is recommended.  Maximum size refrigerator is 3.2 cubic feet.
  • Microwaves up to 1.1. cubic feet.  ONLY allowed in Bellamy Hall  Gathering Rooms (not student bedroom) per fire code.
  • Single use coffee makers, such Keurig, and electric kettles used to heat only water, are allowed, providing they are auto-shut-off and dry boil protected.  Nothing can be within 6 inches of the unit.  These must be plugged in directly to an outlet (no strip outlet, no power strip, no extension cord, no multiplug adapter, etc.)

  • Iron WITH AUTO SHUT OFF and ironing board
  • Cell Phone
  • Computer (Laptop or Desktop) No wireless routers allowed as our system is wireless and it will cause interference.  If you are bringing a desktop computer, a wireless card is needed.  The WiFi will support both 2.4 Gigahertz or 5.0 Gigahertz wireless card.
  • Alarm clock -  For back-up to cell phone
  • Room fan - Quality oscilating fan is highly recommended
  • Hair styling equipment WITH AUTO SHUT OFF
  • Television for streaming
  • TV Antenna if you wish to access local cable channels
  • All your chargers - as well as an extra!
  • Any necessary passwords (we recommend you don't write them down where anyone could find them)
  • Headphones
  • White-Noise Machine (link is a reference only)
  • Posters
  • Pictures from home
  • Memo board
  • Carpet or small throw rug
  • "Decorative Lighting" (i.e. string, LED, fairy , holiday lights, rope lights, etc.) is limited to LED decorative lights provided that all of the below restrictions are followed:

    • Are not attached to the wall with any adhesive (Command Strips are required)
    • Are not "daisy-chained" (multi strings connected)
  • Identification: i.e. driver's license or other  official ID

  • Financial aid information: i.e. FAFSA Submission Summary, grant/scholarship verification

  • Printer cartridges/paper (only if bringing a printer.  We recommend use of campus & Residence Hall free printers!)
  • Scotch tape/masking tape
  • Software disks or passwords in case re-installation needed
  •  Disinfectant wipes (i.e. Clorox)
  •  Disinfectant spray to spray shower, sink, tiolet, etc. (i.e. Lysol)
  • Personal hand sanitizer
  • Antibacterial hand soap
  • Spare masks/face coverings     
  • Paper Towels
  • We loan out brooms/dustpans
  • Broom
  • Dust pan

What to leave at home

  • EBikes, Electric Scooters, Hover Boards, Segways, etc.  This are against Residence Hall Fire Codes and are not allowed inside the buildings.
  • Wireless Routers.
  • Pets (other than non-carnivorous fish requiring no filter, heater or lights).  ESA requests should be submitted to Residence Life.
  • Standard household extension cords (Zip Cords) and plug adapters.
  • Personal Microwave ovens - these are ONLY allowed in the Bellamy Hall Suite Gathering Rooms.
  • Heat producing cooking appliances, such as hot plates, air-fryers, etc.  There is no cooking in the Residence Hall rooms or public areas. 
  • Candles and incense.
  • Halogen and lava lamps, electric blankets, space heaters, non-LED decorative "holiday" lights, heating pads, air conditioners.
  • Alcohol and alcohol containers.
  • Cannabis paraphernalia.
  • Excessive noise devices; amplifiers, excessive speakers.
  • Hair Styling Irons or clothes irons WITHOUT AUTO-SHUT OFF.
  • Cinder blocks (our beds raise higher by design so they are not needed)
  • Outside furniture.
  • Weightlifting apparatus.
  • Firearms/fireworks/utility knives greater than 3".
  • Dartboards.
  • BBQ grills.
