Yes, MVCC recognizes medical and religious exemptions as defined by New York State Public Health Law 2165. Please contact the Health Center with questions on how to obtain a medical or religious exemption.
Those who have been honorably discharged from the Military within the past 10 years may be eligible for a temporary exemption. A copy of your honorable discharge and a request to the Military requesting your records is required to obtain this exemption. Please see the Health Center for assistance with applying for this exemption.
All injuries or incidents require an incident report within 24 hours of the event. Incident reports can be done in the Health Center during open nurse hours or in the Department of Public Safety Office in Utica at AB106, in Rome at PC118C.

a) MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): All students born on or after January 1, 1957*, that are registered for 6 or more credit hours on campus, must provide proof of 2 immunizations or immunity to MMR.
*Any student born before January 1, 1957, is required to submit proof of age and sign the Meningitis Response on the MVCC Health Information form.
b) Meningitis: The meningitis vaccination is not mandatory, but recommended. In order to meet this requirement you can submit proof of receiving the vaccine within the past 5 years OR sign the waiver on the MVCC Health Information form.
The Health Center office hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm and is located in Alumni College Center, room 104.
