The MVCC Care Team is dedicated to fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive campus environment by identifying, assessing, and addressing concerns related to student well-being and concerning behavior. Through a proactive and multidisciplinary approach, the Care Team promotes early intervention, resource connection, and holistic support to enhance student success and community well-being.

Communicate the process for making a Care referral at the beginning and mid-point of each semester as reminders

Communicate to all full-time, part-time, and adjunct employees the location for making a Care referral, noted below: www.mvcc.edu/Care

Identify and assess student concerns
  • Review and evaluate reports of student distress, disruptive behavior, or concerning conduct.
    Utilize NABITA's risk assessment rubric to determine appropriate response levels.
Coordinate support and resources
  • Develop individualized intervention plans.
  • Connect students with appropriate on-campus and community resources.
Monitor and follow-up
  • Maintain ongoing contact with students to track progress and effectiveness of interventions.
  • Adjust support plans as needed.
Train and Educate the campus community
  • Provide faculty, staff, and students with training on recognizing and reporting student concerns.
  • Promote awareness of Care Team services and procedures.

Confidentiality and Compliance

  • All actions and records are handled in accordance with FERPA, HIPPA, Title IX, and other applicable laws.
  • Information is shared on a need-to-know basis within the scope of student safety and well-being.
