A hypothetical measure equating 30 hours to one full-time student. For instance, if the total number of hours taught at MVCC for the academic year is149,520, that equals 4,984 full-time equivalent students (149,520 / 30 = 4,984). AFTE is not the same as an FTE.
A student that was enrolled in the immediately preceding fall semester (spring students) or spring semester (fall students). Summer and Intersession are not considered.
A student matriculated and enrolled full-time at another SUNY college taking one course at MVCC that is applicable to their program at the other college. For more information go to Cross Registration.
The number of students enrolled in credit courses and/or developmental courses eligible for financial aid. Cross registered students are not included.
For non-credit courses, billing hours, or the credit hours that a student would have accrued if the course was a credit course.

Credit hours used in  GPA calculation. They include any class taken for credit (excludes non-credit classes) and a grade of A, B, C, D, or F. A course is only included once - if the course is repeated only the class with the highest grade is included.

A cumulative measure of the grades a student receives over their career - MVCC uses a 4.0 scale.

MVCC uses PELL as a proxy to identify low income students. A student offered a PELL award is identified as low income.

Those individuals belonging to a minority group that is underrepresented based on their minority group's representation in the total population. Using this definition and available data on minority representation in New York State – Blacks or African Americans, Hispanics, American Indians or Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians or Other Pacific Islanders are classified as underrepresented minorities. Persons of mixed heritage (two or more races) are also underrepresented minorities if one of the races is one of those aforementioned. Asians are not considered to be an underrepresented minority.
