Thought and Memory

Works by MVCC School of Art Faculty

Sept. 5-Oct. 6, 2023

Opening reception: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023

This exhibit will feature a variety of media, including painting, drawing, sculpture, graphic design, and photography by faculty in MVCC’s School of Art. The work will explore the themes of thought and memory, offering viewers a glimpse into the creative minds of the artists.

Thought and memory are two of the most fundamental aspects of human experience; they are what allow us to learn, grow, and make sense of the world around us. They are also what make us who we are. The artists in this exhibition explore the themes of thought and memory in different ways, specifically as they relate to works created in the past. Some artists use their work to document their thoughts and memories, while others use their work to explore the thoughts and memories of others or to create a visual representation of the abstract concepts of thought and memory.
