Program information

Get your start in economics, accounting, and banking with our Finance Certificate program, which will provide you with the basic knowledge about finance and management operations you need to kickstart your career. Earning this certificate also puts you on track to earning an MVCC degree in Business Administration or Individual Studies.

Upon completion of the nine-month program, students should be competent in the following areas:

  • Preparation for positions in the field of financial services or transfer to a degree program in financial services, management or accounting
  • Ability to effectively interact with a diverse business population
  • Effective communication
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems for the financial services and accounting industries
  • Understanding of world-wide issues related to business
  • Ability to gather, organize, manage, and interpret data electronically
  • Information literacy using traditional and contemporary information technology and the ability to identify, access, and appropriately use authoritative sources of information
