Steps to Enroll at MVCC

After completing your application and submitting all the necessary paperwork for admission to MVCC, your application will be reviewed by our Admissions staff and you will be notified in a timely manner about your acceptance. Once you are accepted to MVCC, please follow these steps to complete your enrollment:

Please submit your Admissions Reservation Form as soon as you can. You can complete the form online at mvcc.edu/arf or return the paper copy that came in the acceptance packet you received in the mail. This form serves as a free admissions deposit and allows us to prepare your records, including your MVCC email account and MyMV PIN.

You can apply for financial aid for the upcoming academic year. Tax information is vital to the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). Apply for FAFSA at studentaid.gov and TAP at hesc.ny.gov.

All students taking on-campus classes must comply with this requirement, as it is a New York State Law. You will need to show documented proof of receiving immunizations for Measles, Mumps and Rubella, and you are required to complete the Meningitis Response portion of the Health Form. You can obtain your records at your primary care physician or high school.

If your permanent home address is outside of Oneida County, you must provide the Business Office with a Certificate of Residence from your home county. Certificates can be obtained at your local county treasurer’s office and may be submitted up to 60 days before registration, but must be submitted no later than the scheduled payment due date. Failure to complete this requirement will result in a charge equal to 50% of the amount of tuition.

You can also download your county’s form here.

  • 504 & IEP Plans: If you previously have received accommodative services and wish to continue these in college, you must supply your documentation and schedule an appointment with the Office of Accessibility Resources. Find more information and schedule an appointment.
  • Educational Opportunity Program (EOP): This program provides access, academic support, and financial assistance to first-time, full-time students who show promise to succeed in college but may need additional support. Learn more about MVCC EOP.
  • Housing and Residence Life: If you've decided to live on campus, please contact the Admissions Office for information about housing.

What's next?

MVCC will contact you via text and email about your specific next steps, so be on the lookout for communication from us! Some students will need to take a placement test while others won't and can move straight to completing the New Student Online Orientation. For more information, call 315-731-5710 or email accepted@mvcc.edu.

The placement test is a way to help us make sure you are placed into the appropriate-level math and English courses so you can get a strong start in your studies. If you need special accommodations due to a disability, please contact the Office of Accessibility Resources. Learn more about placement testing at mvcc.edu/placement.

Your Student Support Advisor (SSA), who is assigned to you based on your major, will be your personal guide through your next enrollment steps, and will provide advisement and support to help you stay on track to reach your educational goals.
