Disability Mentoring Day

Disability Mentoring Day (DMD) is a nationally recognized event that connects students and job seekers who have disabilities to opportunities for career exploration, mentoring, and employment. Locally, this event is designed to introduce participants to a variety of career paths, build professional skills, and foster meaningful connections with employers and mentors in the community through interactive activities and simulations.

  • When: Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025; 9 a.m.

Dream Symposium Bus Tour

Join the Career Transition Program for a Bus Trip to the Dream Symposium in Albany, N.Y.  The Dream Symposium will include a job fair, vendor fair, assistive technology demonstration, job preparation assistance, breakout sessions, and more! 

  • When: Tuesday, Oct. 28; leave at 9 a.m., return at 4:30 p.m.
  • Where: Bus will pick up students outside the Academic Building

Career Exploration Bus Trip

Learn about a variety of career opportunities that exist right here in the Mohawk Valley aboard our Career Exploration Bus Tour. Stops will include locations with opportunities in hospitality, marketing, human services, and more. The day will culminate with a complimentary lunch.

  • When: Tuesday, Nov. 18; leave at 8:30 a.m., return at 2:30 p.m.

Financial Literacy Reality Fair

This event — open to high school students — is a simulation of an adult's financial life that allows participants to experience making financial decisions and managing money. Participants can experience what it's like to manage an account at a financial institution, make money-related decisions, obtain a loan, manage debt, and more. For youth, a reality fair can be an eye-opening, exciting, and fun way to build financial knowledge and skills. 

  • When: Thursday, March 19, 2026; 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Where: Alumni College Center Snack Bar, MVCC Utica Campus

Senior Connect Day

Senior Connect Day is designed to help high school seniors enrolled in Pre-Employment Transition Services prepare for life after graduation. Whether students are heading to college, pursuing vocational training, entering the workforce, or still exploring their options, this event offers tailored support and guidance. The day features interactive workshops, tours, and activities to explore the MVCC campus.  

  • When: Tuesday, April 14, 2026; 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
