This information is intended to assist schools, students, and families with the transition process from school to what comes next. Transition planning is a process that requires partnership between the student, family, and school district and, as appropriate, other agencies that can provide transition activities to help students move from school to adult life. Being well informed will help ensure you have a full opportunity to enjoy the benefits of the postsecondary education experience without confusion or delay. MVCC Disability Documentation Guidelines
In order to receive disability-related accommodations and services at MVCC, students with disabilities must provide the Office of Accessibility Services on the Utica Campus (or the Student Services Office on the Rome Campus) with current professional documentation that clearly supports all requests for accommodations. Confidentiality Policy
Information about a student’s disability-related needs is shared only with the student’s permission on a need-to-know basis in order to facilitate the provision of services, or under emergency conditions when necessary to protect the well-being of the student or others. It does not become a part of the student’s college record, and there is no indication on the college transcript that a student self-identified and/or received disability-related services and accommodations.
