Official Transcripts

Generally, transcripts are transmitted as PDF documents. We will send a paper copy by mail only when the receiving institution will not accept an electronic file. Please use the links below.

Requesting a Transcript

MVCC will issue the first official transcript requested at no charge. This is a one-time, free transcript. Each additional transcript is $10.00.

MVCC has retained Parchment to process transcript orders over the internet. TIP: Enter the recipient email address manually rather than choosing a college from the list on the form.

After you click the link to begin your request, you will need to create an account in order to begin your request.  You may use any current email address to create your account, which will be the email address where the confirmation notifications will be sent.

Recent/current students should select the "hold for grades" option before you submit your request.  This will ensure that your transcript will not be sent until your grades have been applied to the transcript.

Recent graduates should select the "hold for degree" option before you submit your request.  This will ensure that your transcript will not be sent until your degree has been applied to the transcript.

CREDIT HOURS

Prior to fall 1982, MVCC operated on a quarter calendar (fall/winter/spring/summer) and credit was stated in quarter hours.  To compute equivalent semester hours, multiply quarter hours by two thirds.  Beginning with the 1982 fall term, MVCC has operated on a semester calendar (fall/spring/summer) and credit is stated in semester hours.  To compute equivalent quarter hours, multiply semester hours by one and one half.

CUMULATIVE TOTALS

Prior to fall 1989, the MVCC record includes totals for the student’s most recent major program.  From fall 1989 through spring 1992, the record also includes cumulative MVCC totals as well as totals of credit transferred from another institution.  Since summer 1992, it includes cumulative MVCC, transfer, and combined (overall) MVCC and transfer totals.

Prior to fall 1990, only the latest final grade was included for repeated courses; beginning fall 1990, only the highest grade is included.  Beginning in 1992, repeated courses are identified with an “I” if included in the grade point average and with an “E” if excluded.

TRANSCRIPT TYPES

MVCC has used several forms for student records.  A student whose enrollment has spanned a considerable length of time or whose status has changed may have more than one form.  The current student record combines any earlier for types into the new format.  For earlier forms, all pages are part of the student record.

TRANSCRIPT VALIDATION

An official transcript printed on secure paper is valid only when it bears the embossed seal of the College and the signature of the registrar.  Official transcripts issued to students have “Issued to Student” printed on the transcript.  An official transcript is a complete and unabridged copy of the student’s MVCC academic record.
