Testing Accommodations for Classes
In order to receive testing accommodations, students must provide the Office of Accessibility Resources (OAR) with written information that documents that the requested modification is necessary and must follow all established testing procedures. An accommodation plan and accommodative testing policy must be signed by the student to receive the accommodative services.
Incoming students are encouraged to also set up an appointment with the Office of Accessibility Resources as soon as possible to set up their accommodation plan for classes. Students can contact OAR at 315-792-5644 or oar@mvcc.edu or go directly to the OAR Webpage to schedule an appointment.
Please note, to schedule tests for classes with accommodations, students must call the Test Center at 315-731-5802 or stop into PH 104a (Utica Campus) to schedule at least 3-school days (do not count weekend days) in advance. Example, if you have a test on a Thursday, the exam must be scheduled with the Test Center no later than the Monday before.
As a general rule, your accommodative exam will be held on the same day as close to class time as a student’s schedule permits. Exams for evening classes will be moved into business hours (Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm). There may be some cases where exams can be proctored outside of business hours, however this will be handled on a case by case basis.
If you have any questions, please contact the Test Center at 315-731-5802.
