Building strong foundation & pathways

New and Existing Program Development

As regional momentum in the advanced manufacturing, microelectronics, and semiconductor industries continues to build, MVCC is working to proactively develop partnerships, curriculums, expanded networks, and innovative programming to help build the region’s workforce pipeline and attract new talent.

"MVCC was full of resources to help students, ranging from scholarships and mentors to leadership activities and community service opportunities. All these experiences have helped shape who I am today."

FIRST Tech Challenge

FIRST programming at MVCC engages more than 1,500 youth in STEM adventures, inspiring the next generation of science and technology leaders through education, innovation, and teamwork. Students experience the application of real-world STEM concepts and achieve hands-on computer programming and rapid-prototyping experience.

Mobile classroom for rural areas

Classrooms on wheels will allow us to provide training on-site for businesses and rural communities. This mobile state-of-the-art classroom will seat up to 12 students with climate control and Wi-Fi enabled, which will provide increased access to education and training.

Fast Track Careers

The Fast Track Careers program will allow students to receive free training for entry-level jobs and potentially earn college credits at the same time, opening the door for additional training, certifications, and degree possibilities to help them advance up the career ladder. MVCC works directly with local businesses to ensure the needs of our community’s workforce are met. The MVCC Foundation is looking to create additional scholarship opportunities that can help fill in potential funding gaps.

Local Entrepreneurship Ecosystem

MVCC is committed to continuing the development of the entrepreneurship ecosystem locally.

MVCC’s thINCubator is the Mohawk Valley’s hub for entrepreneurship, providing a variety of programming to support new and existing entrepreneurs in turning their ideas into businesses. It is also the home of the Small Business Development Center and a network of mentors and experts, and provides desk space, meeting space, computer and internet access, and co-working space.
