Program Information
Are you interested in becoming an electrical technician? This program will prepare you to start your career as an entry-level industrial electrician or machine repair technician in this diverse and lucrative field. Learn from faculty years of experience in design, contraction, and installation of automated systems in manufacturing, high-energy systems, and automated software development. Coursework in electrical and mechanical theory emphasizes troubleshooting, as this is a requirement for local employment opportunities in a wide range of industries.
Upon completion of the two-year program, students should be competent in all of the following areas:
- Have the basic skills to prepare the student for a career as an electrical service technician
- Work effectively as part of a diverse technical team.
- Present technical materials in written form
- Apply basic technical concepts and industry practices to implement electrical and electronic systems
- Install, operate, and troubleshoot industrial control systems.
- Utilize basic principles and resources in the development of solutions to technical challenges
- Demonstrate information literacy
