The Veterans Education Services Office welcomes Veteran students, Reservist, National Guard, Active Duty students and Dependents to Mohawk Valley Community College. Our office is here to help you through the traditional college processes as well as provide a comprehensive overview of VA and DOD Educational Benefits. We are committed to supporting your academic and career goals along with making the transition to college as seamless as possible. Stop by our Veterans Study Area on the first floor of Payne Hall, or join the MVCC chapter of Student Veterans of America to learn more about available services and resources.

Those students applying for Veteran Education Benefits at Mohawk Valley Community College for the first time should complete an application to the Veterans Administration well in advance of the start of the semester using the online application at www.va.gov/education. When you receive your Certificate of Eligibility (COE) from the VA, bring a copy of this form to the Veterans Education Services Office to start the certification process. Those utilizing Veterans Education Benefits must complete the Electronic Enrollment Form for every semester they wish to use VA Benefits here at MVCC.

The Veterans Education Services also assists students called to Active Duty. Students must submit a copy of their orders prior to withdrawing from classes and consult with the Veterans Education Coordinator. Upon return, the student should consult with the Veterans Education Coordinator to address the possible need for waivers. For further information, contact your county Veterans Affairs Office or the MVCC Veteran’s Education Coordinator.
